Bio – Quiksound Productions has been running for over 7 years now, the philosophy is to put on events that will attract all groups of young people in the City of Monash, and promote a positive image of young people in the community.
Crew - 12 dedicated, enthusiastic young people connected to all different areas in the City of Monash with a variety of different music and artistic interests. The committee are all very motivated, and welcoming of new members.
Events - We run drug, alcohol and smoke free events that are safe places for young people to come and have a good time. During 2007, we ran the Glen Waverley Festival, an Air Guitar event, New Skool Rulez, Battle of the Bands, and the Battle of the Bands regional final featuring Airbourne. In 2008 so far, we ran a youth stage at the Clayton Festival, organised the Glen Waverley Festival – which included a skate competition, the Getaway Plan and krumping workshops, New Skool Rules. For the rest of the year, we will be running a Battle of the Bands, Trivia night, and another Friday Night gig. In the past we have also been involved in running air guitar competitions, film festivals and often have themes at our events.
Highlights - Not only does our FReeZA group provide a great opportunity to get a hands-on experience with the music industry, but also gives young people a safe environment to meet new people from their area, and gain valuable social skills.
Community Support - The committee are always looking for ways to include local businesses and organisations into the events. Recently we have had involvement/contributions from; Boardworx, L.J Hooker, Syndal Music, Mr. Music, Studio 52, WACT Productions, Melbourne Snowboard, Local Scout groups, Southern Ethnic Advisory & Advocacy Council (SEAAC), Eastern Drug & Alcohol Service (EDAS), Multicultural Arts Victoria (MAV), Church groups, Brentwood Secondary College, and much more
