Meet the Roving Support Crews!
The Bairnsdale and Sale Pages of youthcentral have Roving Support Crews.
Wellington and East Gippsland Roving Support Crews work on creating and writing for the Sale and Bairnsdale pages on youthcentral. These local pages feature articles by the roving reporters as well as other information and features that are relevant to young people in the local areas.
The articles and information on these two pages comes from the Roving Support Crew. This group of eight young people work as part of an editorial team to select, report, write, promote and work with community agencies to provide content for youthcentral.
Professional writers from around the region will act as Guest Editors for the webpage, providing mentoring opportunities for the young writers.
The Roving Support Crews are supported by the Gippsland East LLEN and the Shires of Wellington and East Gippsland.
The Roving Support Crew provides a great opportunity to gain experience in working on a website and valuable work experience towards a career in journalism, writing and communication.
The Bairnsdale Roving Support Crews have been meeting since September 2008 to write articles and organise the launch of the Bairnsdale Page. A simultaneous launch within the local secondary colleges is happening on 7 November 2008.
